ial Campaign. Jamal spoke to Mrs. Edwards about issues related to

mericans serving in the military, but more specifically, about how, as a result
of the Patriot
Act, anti-
Arab and anti-Muslim sentiments have spilled over to
Arab
Americans serving in the military or government. Jamal asked Mrs.
Edwards as to whether John Kerry, if elected
President
, would be more aware and sensitive as to dealing with issues regarding anti-
Arab and anti-Muslim sentiment, since it seems that some
Americans are determined to pass legislation that would put all
Arab
Americans, as well as Muslim

mericans under heavy scrutiny and investigation in relation to terrorist ties.
Jamal voiced his strong condemnation towards this movement and reaffirmed to
Mrs. Edwards that

rab
A
mericans and Muslim
A
mericans have been serving this Great country since the Revolutionary War.
Mrs. Edwards was surprised to hear that this movement to pass such legislation
exists and voiced her disagreement with such a measure.
